The CPF Voluntary Director, Hannah David was delighted to be asked to attend and participate in a Policy discussion forum held in Battle and Bexhill last week. The meeting was well attended by local members and also by the Member of Parliament, Huw Merriman. The meeting began with a speech by Hannah on the CPF's future plans and this was followed by a lively question and answer session. One particular suggestion made by the group was for Members of Parliament to be encouraged to attend CPF meetings, something that has not always happened.
The group then moved onto a debate about current issues affecting the NHS (a topic chosen by the group). A junior doctor who attended the discussion gave invaluable insight and input into the debate, enforcing the need for experts in topics to be present at CPF discussions. The debate was extremely informative and covered issues such as funding, resources, working hours, and current strike action by junior doctors.
Hannah and the CPF would like to thank the organiser Angharad Davies for this excellent event.
