The CPF is the Conservative Party's in-house think tank for members and supporters.
Our job is simple: we gather the best policy ideas from members and supporters involved in the party's policy and manifesto creation process.
We do this by:
- Bringing together members and supporters to form and test ideas. Each year, the CPF runs a programme of policy discussions in partnership with the Shadow Cabinet. Nine topics are set based on key political priorities, members contribute ideas, feedback is gathered and refined, and final proposals are submitted to the Shadow Cabinet. Additionally, we also run one-off events on key topical items.
- Identifying members and supporters with in-depth knowledge and expertise in their policy area, and bringing them together in closed roundtables or working groups to support the work of the Shadow Ministerial Teams.
And we work closely with the Policy Renewal Programme, encouraging fully-worked-up policy ideas from members and supporters that answer the challenges facing Britain to be sent directly into the Leader’s Policy Renewal programme.
We have a programme of national policy consultations, local CPF groups meeting in constituencies, a range of online events, workshops at conferences, and roundtable discussions. The CPF often alerts our leaders to concerns from the heart of our communities before they are detected by pollsters or journalists, and provides a forum for the Party leadership to test ideas and hear responses to them.
